A celebration of music filmed at the Teatro alla Scala – thanks in particular to the superb voice of Russian soprano Anna Netrebko, as a passionate Tosca.

Cecilia Bartoli’s superb performance in Gioachino Rossini’s The Italian Girl in Algiers filmed at Salzburg Festival was a highlight among the Rossini celebrations on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s death.

FRA Cinéma presents in partnership with Opéra national de Paris the 2020/2021 season in cinemas  : 7 operas and 3 ballets from September 10, 2020.

The cinemas are closed in France for an unlimited period. FRA Cinéma theatrical releases are all suspended.

The new cinema season 20/21 will be soon available online.

The duo formed for La Traviata is back in a new production of the opera by Jules Massenet.  The stage director Vincent Huguet casts the work’s customary taffeta aside in order to bring out its violence to the full.

Placed under the aegis of a multitude of talents: Théophile Gautier - co-author of the libretto -, Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot - who sign the choreography -, Alexandre Benois - whose designs inspired the sets and costumes -, Patrice Bart and Eugène Polyakov - to whom we owe the adaptation of the ballet for the Paris Opera, Giselle represents the apogee of the new romantic aesthetic that was very much in vogue in the intellectual and artistic circles of the early 19th century.

Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov are the stars of the Franco Zeffirelli production of Verdi’s masterpiece at the Arena di Verona for the 97th Opera Festival. One of the most acclaimed and widely-recognized sopranos in the world today was making her debut at the world’s largest open-air theatre in June 2019.

The young American stage director Lydia Steier gave her Salzburg Festival debut with a fresh take on the most beloved opera of all time. She introduces the role of the grandfather, a narrator reading the opera like a fairy tale to his three grandchildren.

After the successful live broadcast on the 10 of October, the highlight of the Paris Opera 350th anniversary season is back to the cinemas from November 9th.
